On Saturday we woke up to the sun shining brightly in a clear blue sky. After a few moments of silence – what was this strange light? – we decided to jump on the train and go for a walk to make the most of the sunshine. We went up to Skipton, on the edge of the Dales, and enjoyed a nice warm lunch as well as a stroll – it was in fact absolutely freezing and the sun made no difference whatsoever! It did however cast a beautiful light on this dry stone wall, and the bright green of the moss and algae looked wonderful.
I liked the seed pod poking out of a nook in the wall like a little hedgehog – did you see it?
I also liked this moss glowing in the sun a little further on.
Back at home, these daffodils are looking gorgeous!
And finally, the first pieces of a new crochet project – a granny square blanket! I’ve spent so long looking at pictures and patterns online, I couldn’t decide what I actually wanted to do, so it has taken me ages to actually sit down and make anything. In the end I decided to pick some colours and just start! I made a few of these colourful squares and thought they looked lovely… but weren’t what I wanted in my blanket. Once I put the cream border on, though, I felt the colours all seemed to come together – so it’s full steam ahead for my blanket. And with the temperatures here still struggling to get above freezing, I don’t think there’s going to be a problem in using it!

What beautiful colours in your photographs! The vibrant green moss, the daffodils glowing yellow and the warm, bright colours in your squares. I’m sure the blanket will come together nicely. Abigail x
Thankyou
Can you tell I’m getting tired of the drab grey winter? I’m so ready for some colour!
Your colourful squares look fabulous, it’s amazing how white can tie it all in together.
It’s certainly a relief! I’m amazed how quickly these squares come together, my pile is growing rapidly
